Prologue – Where do I start?

[*] – “Most start at the beginning.”

[Kage] – “Before that, you need to understand some things.”

At the heart of Elodoria is a great mountain called Ka’Zar. It was atop Mt. Ka’Zar that Sol’tharr and Edo, The First Kings had a magnificent temple constructed. Edo, King of the Humans, instructed the people to build this great temple as a symbol of peace and prosperity between us and the dragons. People worked day and night to construct the central chamber first. The First Kings oversaw the rest of the temple’s construction from its central chamber. They were also discussing the terms of the treaty for their new peace bound Elodoria.

When the temple was finally finished, they gathered everyone of royal lineage in the north atrium. Edo brought five of his adult children to the front of the atrium and began reading the terms of the treaty. After, they held a ceremony to establish the leadership of the newly formed clans of Elodoria. Each clan would be led by both a human and a dragon. They divided the atrium into what would become the five royal families of the clans. All ten leaders and both kings signed the treaty with the five royal families as witnesses. The First Kings instructed the royal families to travel to the base of the mountain and spread word amongst the people to begin establishing the clan’s people. The choice of which clan someone went to, was left up to the individual. While the clans were dividing themselves up with the royal families as guides, the clan leaders and kings were performing a transference ritual in the central chamber of the temple. The ritual unites the dragon with the human leader so that they may lead as one.

[Kage] – This is the last record of The First Kings I’ve been able to find in my travels.

Once the ritual was completed and all the conditions of the treaty were met, a series of magical events took place. A bright flash of light was shot straight out of the central tower and into the sky. At the same time, a magical barrier was formed around Elodoria. What exists outside that barrier today is referred to as The Realm of Nightmares. The barrier keeps the nightmarish creatures out of our peaceful land. The treaty states that so long as the humans maintain peace in Elodoria, the barrier will remain strong. Should peace collapse, so shall the barrier.

The five new clan leaders left two fierce creatures to guard the temple. These temple guards are dark beings, who possess immense magical power and can wield other worldly weapons. They’re so formidable, most dragons are intimidated by them. The leaders reached the base of Mt. Ka’Zar to find the people had divided themselves into their clans and were ready to travel to their new homes. The clans were each given specific sections of Elodoria’s land. From that day forth, the clans settled down in their respective lands and remained at peace. All the clans travel to the base of Mt. Ka’Zar every year to host the coming-of-age trials and bond with the other clans. But no one goes to the temple at the peak unless it’s urgent clan leader business, royal trial ceremonies, or transference ceremonies.
